Tim King

Tim King, CFA, GAICD

Chief Investment Officer

Tim co-founded Melior in 2018. Tim is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and is also on the Melior Advisory Council. He has worked in capital markets for more than 30 years and has over 15 years experience in ESG research. Tim was Head of Company & ESG Research for Colonial First State Global Asset Management’s Australian Equities Core Fund from 2016 to 2018. Prior to this he was Head of Advisory for governance research firm Regnan and Head of Company & ESG Research for Deutsche Bank from 2003 -2013. He was also a top 3 rated sell side analyst.

Tim serves on the board of the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust and has served on the boards of The Gold Standard Foundation, based in Geneva, and Fauna and Flora International (FFI), the world’s oldest international conservation organisation. Tim is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has received an Advanced Certificate in International Economics and Finance from the Kiel Institute of World Economics in Germany and attended the University of Rochester in New York on a Fulbright Scholarship. Tim has both a Master of Arts with First Class Honours (Economics) and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Tim is an Industry Fellow at the University of Technology Business School.

Nina Wilkinson, CFA

Portfolio Manager

Nina is a Portfolio Manager at Melior. Nina joined Melior in 2019 and has 13 years experience as a portfolio manager, assistant portfolio manager and equity analyst working on both the buy and sell side in Sydney and London. Nina previously worked at Credit Suisse London as a HOLT equity analyst from 2016-2019 covering the European technology, media and telecom sectors as well as small cap stocks. Prior to this Nina worked in the multi-asset class discretionary portfolio management team at Credit Suisse Private Bank in Sydney from 2012-2016.

Nina is a CFA charterholder. Nina received a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) and Bachelor of Arts (German and French) from the University of Sydney.

Sona Fernandes, CFA, CA

Analyst

Sona Fernandes is an Analyst at Melior. Sona has nine years experience in Finance and was previously in the equity research team at Jarden Australia and Morgan Stanley covering emerging companies and banks, respectively. Prior to this, she worked at PwC Australia and Deloitte Australia.

Sona received a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting) from the University of New South Wales. She is a CFA charterholder and Chartered Accountant.

Lucy Steed

Lucy Steed, GAICD

Chair, Advisory Council

Lucy is Chair of the Advisory Council and the Founding CEO of Melior. Lucy has been a pioneer in equities impact investing in the Australian market having co-founded Melior in 2018 with the objective of delivering competitive returns alongside positive environmental and social impact. Lucy has also been a leader in gender lens investing and played a pivotal role in establishing Melior as the first Australian equities fund to apply a gender lens to its investment approach.

Lucy is a Graduate of the of Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a University of Sydney Ambassador. She also sits on the Foundation Board of St Catherines School. Lucy received a Master of Commerce (Finance and Banking) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Marketing ) from the University of Sydney. In 2023, Lucy was included in The Australian's Top 100 Green Power Players List.

Dermot O'Gorman

Dermot is the Chief Executive Officer of the World Wildlife Fund, Australia (WWF-Australia). WWF is the largest independent conservation organisation in the world and operates in more than 100 countries. Dermot is a global sustainable development leader with 25 years’ experience in envisioning, ideating, and implementing solutions to protect wildlife, the environment and people. He has been a CEO at WWF for two decades across roles in China, the Pacific and Australia, providing Dermot with exposure to a range of local, regional and global conservation issues. Dermot is also Chair of OpenSC, a low carbon and sustainable food verification company and holds board positions with the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and the Luc Hoffmann Institute.
Suzie Riddell

Suzie Riddell

Suzie is an industry leader in the social sector with extensive experience delivering impact for social causes such as education and employment. Suzie was formerly CEO of Social Ventures Australia (SVA), a a not-for-profit organisation that works with partners to alleviate disadvantage in Australia through consulting, impact investing, philanthropy and advocacy. Prior to joining SVA, Suzie was a consultant at Bain & Company. Suzie holds a Bachelor of Accounting (University Medal, First Class Honours) from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Master of Philosophy (International Relations) from the University of Cambridge. She is a Non-Executive Director of The Observership Program, and formerly of YWCA NSW and Holdsworth Community Centre and Services. She was also a winner of AFR BOSS Magazine’s Young Executive of the Year 2017.
