Impact Investment Approach

Note: add title to impact fund themes diagram

We have dual objectives in our investment process:

Deliver competitive financial returns through our multi-dimensional alpha approach; and

Achieve positive social and environmental impact by contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through our investments, active corporate stewardship and public advocacy.

We invest in companies that are making a net positive contribution to the SDGs in areas such as:

Renewable energy

Education

Health

We avoid industries that detract from the SDGs along with the companies indirectly exposed to these industries such as:

Alcohol

Armaments

Fossil fuels – specifically, thermal coal, gas, tar sands and oil production

Gambling

Pornography production

Tobacco

Uranium production and nuclear energy

Ultra-processed foods manufacturing such as fast food, soft drinks and confectionery that are known to be associated with diseases such as obesity

We have a 5% gross revenue threshold for these excluded industries. Supply chain exposure is assessed on a case by case basis.
